My life’s journey of living and working across six continents—from urban USA to remote Mongolia—has shaped my understanding of health, resilience, and lifelong learning. Through my own personal health challenges and in working professionally, I found that conventional healthcare often falls short in addressing chronic issues, gut disorders, hormonal imbalances, and stress related problems.
Despite my background in healthcare and advanced nutrition degrees, I struggled for years with persistent health issues. A compromised gut from childhood, fad diets, and even dysentery took their toll. Then menopause arrived, adding further challenges! I realised that even with all my medical and nutritional knowledge, I still wasn’t truly healing.
Discovering functional medicine was my turning point—it helped me address the root causes of my health issues, not just the symptoms. By applying its principles, I finally healed my gut, rebalanced my hormones, and reclaimed my well-being. Now, as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, I desire to help others transform their own health. My background spans clinical care, public health, research, and coaching, giving me a unique perspective on how to support clients in building lasting wellness.

Why 'Koru' Health Coaching?
Having lived in New Zealand for many years – my husband’s home and my adopted homeland – the koru holds personal meaning for me. The spiral shape of the beautiful unfurling silver fern frond symbolises new beginnings, growth, and harmony, which resonates with how I view the process of health coaching:
Growth and New Beginnings
The koru's unfurling fern is a reminder of the gradual yet expansive growth that clients experience as they start creating and living their best life possible.
Holistic Balance
Reflecting the koru’s balance of movement and stillness, health coaching helps clients create harmony between body, mind, and spirit.
Resilience and Strength
Like the unfurling koru, growth takes quiet strength. Health coaching supports clients in building resilience as they face challenges and keep moving forward in their path toward wellness.
Connection and Community
The koru’s sense of interconnectedness echoes the role of relationships and support networks in a client’s overall wellbeing.
Continuous Journey
The koru’s endless spiral mirrors the lifelong process of growth, reminding clients that wellness is a continuous journey of transformation.
